Company History
Julie and her husband Richard opened the first office in Beeston in 2007. Julie started working in the industry at the age of 17 on a YTS government training scheme, going on to develop her career with a national diploma in funeral directing working for a number of years in Beeston and surrounding areas in a managerial position.
In 2004, Julie left work to have a baby and become a full-time mum to their son Jack.
When Jack got a little older, Julie felt the pull to go back to an industry she loved and was so passionate about and Richard wanted to join Julie on the journey. So, in 2007 Julie Wesson Independent Funeral Directors Ltd was born.
After 10 years at The Forge on Wollaton Road in Beeston and building a reputation within the community, Julie and Richard relocated their Beeston office to their beautiful premises just around the corner on Villa Street which was officially opened on the 18th January 2020 by Tina Stowell MBE Baroness Stowell of Beeston and has been affectionately named Harold house after Julie's father who sadly passed away September 2017.
Our second office Stowell House is located on Blenheim Drive Chilwell which serves as our main care facility and is where we carefully maintain our funeral vehicles.
We remain to this day a small independent funeral director offering dedicated and personalised service to all areas of Nottingham, Derbyshire and beyond.
You will always be looked after by a small team who share Julie and Richard's ethos of being there for you every step of the way and offering the very best care and comfort to support you and your family at the saddest and most difficult time.
